Team Members Dave Rohrl is a game industry veteran with more than 24 years experience designing and producing games for mass market audiences, including more than 10 years of free-to-play experience. Over the course of his career, he has led design or production on more than 50 games and overseen or consulted on dozens more. Dave is currently the Owner of Mobile Game Doctor LLC, a game design agency committed to using high-skilled veteran game designers to solve challenging problems on mobile game projects worldwide. Dave has previously held management positions at Pogo, Zynga, Playdom, and PopCap, where he was immortalized as Crazy Dave in the game Plants vs. Zombies. Dave works on many projects directly and oversees key deliverables for every client. Dr. Cat is an industry pioneer who's been designing and programming games professionally for 34 years. He created the first free-to-play game, Furcadia, in 1996, which also holds a Guiness World Record as the longest continuously running MMORPG, and co-authored a patent for the unique math model in High Noon Video Poker. He's known for the design work he did on several of the hit games in the Ultima series, including Ultima VI, Ultima Underworld II, and leading the design & team on Ultima: Runes of Virtue. He was also lead designer on top 10 Facebook hit Ravenwood Fair, and served as Creative Director at Zippity.com and on Idle Worship. He also has a deep background in Slots games from his work at Multimedia Games and Koolbit. Dr. Cat works on a variety of client projects with a special emphasis on Slots, MMORPG's, and math-intensive design. Steve Meretzky began his celebrated career writing games for the legendary adventure game company Infocom, where his titles included “Planetfall”, “The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy” (a collaboration with Douglas Adams), “Leather Goddesses of Phobos”, and “Zork Zero”. Steve has run his own development studio, Boffo Games, and has been a VP at Disney Interactive, Game Show Network (creators of the very successful social casino app “GSN Casino”), and King (creators of the #1 mobile app, “Candy Crush Saga”). Over his prolific career, Steve has consulted with teams at Activision, Blizzard, EA, Harmonix and Hasbro, to name a few. A former board member of the IGDA, Steve organizes the Mobile Game Summit at the GDC as well as the annual Game Designers Workshop. Scott Jon Siegel makes games for everyone. Since 2008 Scott worked as a lead or senior designer on a number of successful games for Facebook, mobile, and web at companies like Zynga (Café World), Disney (Gardens of Time), and PopCap (Plants vs. Zombies Adventures. He most recently led design on #amidoingthisright, Microsoft’s chat-based ARG. With an emphasis on mass-market appeal, Scott has a penchant for shaping great narrative and memorable user experiences. Jordan Blackman has been writing, producing, and designing video games for over a decade. He is a mobile game design expert and an accomplished producer. He has designed, produced, and consulted on several 9-figure franchises for companies like Zynga, EA, and Ubisoft. Mr. Blackman brought CSI to Facebook with the smash hit, CSI: Crime City. He went on to Zynga where he led the design team on FrontierVille. Jordan has collaborated with top studios worldwide including Telltale games, Area/Code, Other Ocean, Zynga SF, Nickelodeon, EA Sports, Beeline, Facebook, Digit Games, AMC, and The Pokemon Company. |
